Ayibobo!
Voodoo, Vudu, Vodou, and Vodun are spellings that refer to an indigenous religion that thrives off the coast of West Africa. During the transatlantic slave trade, African peoples brought this tradition with them to the Western Hemisphere. Other tribes of African people were also brought to the New World and their spirituality, ancestors, and divinities were brought into the Vodou tradition. This website offers educational content for those interested in the traditions. Because we are members of the Haitian Vodou tradition we will be using this spelling.
